المستخلص: The cemetery of the Al-Ashraf Al-Saadian in the city of Marrakesh received early attention from the French researchers, as the French sociologist and scholar “Edmond Dottie” (in the context of his introduction to Gabriel Rousseau and Felix Aran’s book on the cemetery itself) indicated that he visited it in the year 1900 CE together with Si Boumediene ben Zian and Alal Al-Abdi, and completed their study onit, we have not received any additional data regarding it. After that, “George Aimel” issued a study on the “Palace of Budaiya and the tomb of the Sa’idiyyat al-Ashrafiyya in Marrakech,” which did not exceed one page devoted to it in the cemetery, stressing the necessity of singling it out with a monograph after the completion of the restoration work that started in 1917, and the completion of the lifting of Arabic writings, inscribed on tombstones, ceramic tiles, marble columns, and other items bearing these writings. In the year 1920 AD, “M. Dieulafoy“ presented a reading of the work of “Dr Huguet” related to 203 tombs of the princes of the Saadiyya state, gathered in Marrakesh around the mosque of Yaqoub Al-Mansour, in which he emphasized the existence of graves that could be counted among the masterpieces of Islamic art.
