The theme of the self and the other represent a problematic civilization issue in the Iraqi novel in general, and in the novels of Ali Bader in particular, it has formed a rich material for the subtraction which differs from one novelist to another, in different novel experiences as well as the point of view of the novelist himself. This study seeks to penetrate into the depth of the narrative text to reveal the self and the other in the studied novels, which was described as a literary, monetary, and cultural documents, full of political, social and cultural complexes, and it constitutes a wide area for the conflict of the self and the other. Therefore, his texts were rich in the multiplicity of these two, which were formed a prominent feature of his novels. This study is particularly important because it dealt with a great novelist, who gained the great important of the critics and the politicians. However, none of them did pay attention to the self and the other in his novels, thus he prepared a new study on its subject in spite of the studies that took place around him. The study consisted of three chapters. The first chapter entitled of "The Representations of the self in the Novels of Ali Bader," it dealt with the images of the self and their differences from one novel to another according to the historical, the social and the cultural contexts. The second chapter entitled of "The Representations of the other in Ali Bader's novels" it dealt with the diversity of the other in the studied narratives according to the reality of the novelist. While the third chapter entitled of (the Transformations of the self and the other), it dealt with the concept of the transformations and the reasons which led to the transformation of self and the other in the novels of Ali Bader. The researcher reached to a number of results, the most important of them is that the text of the novel is considered as an integrated structure based on the multiplicity and the diversity in the self and the other, in different images between the belonging and the alienation, and the religious and the social diversity, as well as the transformation of all kinds.
