المستخلص: نظرا إلى التأرجح الدلالي الذي وسم مصطلح البلاغة، والاضطراب الذي اعتراها بسبب اختلاف الدارسين حول مفهومها، بحيث لا نجد تحديدا واحدا جامعا وشاملا تم الاتفاق عليه في المدونة البلاغية العربية لتعيين المقصود منها، ونظرا لرحابة مجال البلاغة واتساع مداها حيث يقول حازم القرطاجي: كيف يظن إنسان أن صناعة البلاغة يتأتى تحصيلها في الزمن القريب، وهي البحر الذي لم يصل أحد إلى نهايته مع استنفاد الأعمار؟ كان لا بد من العودة إلى تاريخ البلاغة العربية بجميع مراحلها لنبسط هذا التاريخ بوصفه منطلقا لدراسة البلاغة وبلورة مفهومها، فالبلاغة العربية في طور نشأتها ونموها لم تتخذ لنفسها خطا متصاعدا من التطور، ولا يجوز لنا أن نعاينها من خلال مرحلة ثابتة من تاريخ حياتها لأن ذلك يجعلنا أسيري ظروف مرحلة لسنا ملزمين بها. ولأن العلاقة ما بين البلاغة والنقد من جهة، وما بينها وبين الأسلوبية من جهة ثانية هي التي تشوشت، وصارت غامضة في أذهان معظم الباحثين بسبب الاعتماد على كتاب "التلخيص في علوم البلاغة" للقزويني الخطيب، جاء هذا البحث ليعالج هاتين العلاقتين وينطلق منهما إلى فهم للبلاغة يرتكز على الخلفية الفكرية التي انطلق منها البلاغيون العرب.

Due to the semantic fluctuation that characterized the term rhetoric as well as the confusion that it experienced regarding its concept between scholars, in a way we can’t find a single and comprehensive definition that was agreed upon in the Arab rhetorical code to define its intended purpose, in addition to the view of the vastness of the field of rhetoric and its breadth where Hazem al-Carthaji says: ‘How does a person assume that rhetoric construction will be achieved soon, which is the sea that no one has reached the end of with the exhaustion of ages?’, itt was necessary to go back to the history of Arabic rhetoric in all its stages in order to simplify this history as a starting point for studying rhetoric and crystallizing its concept. In addition, Arab rhetoric in the stage of its emergence and growth has not taken an escalating line of development for itself. Thus it is not permissible for us to examine it through a fixed stage in the history of its life, because this makes us Captives of the circumstances of a stage we are not obligated to. Furthermore, because the relationship between rhetoric and criticism on one hand, and between stylistics on the other hand, is the one that has been confused, and has become ambiguous in the minds of most researchers due to the reliance on the book “Summarizing the Rhetoric Sciences” by Al-Qazwini Al-Khatib, this research came on the sense to address these two relationships and based on them to reach rhetorical understanding based on the intellectual background from which the Arab rhetoricians started.
