المستخلص: يمثل الوشم شكلا من أشكال التعبير الفني الشعبي الذي قل الاهتمام به في الدراسات التاريخية، لكنه في الوقت ذاته انفرد بخصوصية في الثقافة الشعبية المغاربية التي دفعت بالكثير إلى وشم أجسادهم كشكل من أشكال التزيين أو العلاج الشعبي في إطار ممارسته ضمن أبعاد اجتماعية وثقافية ترتبط بالمعتقدات والعادات الموروثة لدى ممارسيه، وفي هذه الورقة البحثية سوف نحاول تسليط الضوء على هذه العادة التي كانت تمارس في بلاد المغرب القديم انطلاقا من المشاهد الصخرية التي نقشت فيها بعض الإيحاءات على وجود الوشم عند سكان المنطقة، والأشكال المتداولة فيما بينهم خاصة تلك الرموز الهندسية والعلامات التي لا تزال مبهمة وغير واضحة محاولين تبيان الغرض من ذلك، هل هو ديني (عقائدي) أم طبي (علاجي)؟.

Tattoos represent a form of popular artistic expression that has received little attention in historical studies. At the same time, it is unique in Maghreb popular culture, which has led many to tattoo their bodies as a form of decoration or popular treatment within the framework of its practice within social and cultural dimensions that are linked to the beliefs and customs inherited from its practitioners. In this research paper, we will try to shed light on this custom, which was practiced in the countries of ancient Morocco, starting from the rocky scenes in which some suggestions were discussed on the tattoos' existence among the inhabitants of the region, and the forms circulated among them, especially those engineering symbols and signs that are still vague and unclear, in an attempt to clarify the purpose, is it religious (ideological) or medical (remedial)?.

Le tatouage est une forme d'expression artistique populaire peu étudiée dans les études historiques, mais il est aussi singulier dans la culture populaire maghrébine qui a tellement poussé à tatouer leur corps comme une forme de décoration ou de thérapie du peuple, dans le cadre de sa pratique dans des dimensions sociales et culturelles liées aux croyances et coutumes héritées de ses praticiens. Dans ce document de recherche, nous allons tenter de mettre en valeur cette pratique qui était pratiquée dans le Vieux Maghreb à partir des scènes rupestres où l'on a discuté de l'existence du tatouage chez les habitants de la région, et des formes courantes parmi elles, notamment les symboles géométriques, des signes encore obscurs et peu tentés pour indiquer l'objet de cette pratique théologique ou bien médicale?.
