المستخلص: يهدف البحث الحالي إلى تقييم دور وسائل الإعلام في نشر ثقافة القانون الدولي الإنساني لدى المواطنين بالمملكة العربية السعودية، ولتحقق هذا الهدف اتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي واعتمد على الاستبانة والمقابلات المنظمة مع عدد (٢٤٦٨) من المشاركين في جمعيات حقوق الإنسان بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وتكونت الاستبانة من (۳۹) عبارة موزعة على ستة محاور. وأسفرت نتائج البحث بأن وسائل الإعلام السعودية تبذل جهودا في تقديم محتوى تعليمي وتوعوي حول القانون الدولي الإنساني، لكنها تحتاج إلى تحسين الجودة والشمولية، بالإضافة إلى أن هناك ضعف في الحملات الإعلامية الموجهة وقلة البرامج التفاعلية، مما يؤثر على مستوى الوعي لدى الجمهور، كما أوضح البحث أن الإعلام يظهر تفاعلا محدودا في شرح تطبيقات القانون الدولي الإنساني ويحتاج إلى تعزيز التغطية وتحليل المواضيع بعمق، وأن المحتوى الإعلامي يجذب اهتمام الجمهور لكنه يفتقر للتفاعل المباشر مثل التعليقات والمناقشات، وفي ضوء هذه النتائج أوصى البحث بتدريب الإعلاميين على التغطية الإعلامية المتعلقة بالقانون الدولي الإنساني من خلال دورات وورش عمل متخصصة بالتعاون مع الخبراء القانونيين والمؤسسات الإعلامية، وذلك لزيادة جودة ودقة المحتوى الإعلامي وضمان تقديم معلومات موثوقة وشاملة تعزز من فهم الجمهور للقضايا القانونية، إطلاق حملات توعوية مستدامة وموجهة لنشر ثقافة القانون الدولي الإنساني تشمل وسائل الإعلام التقليدية والرقمية، مع التركيز على توضيح مواثيق القانون الدولي وأهميته، لتعزيز الوعي المجتمعي بشكل مستمر ومتجدد، وزيادة الفهم والالتزام بمبادئ القانون الدولي الإنساني.

The current research aims to evaluate the role of the media in spreading the culture of international humanitarian law among citizens in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. To achieve this goal, the research adopted the descriptive analytical approach and employed a questionnaire and structured interviews. The sample of the study included () participants from human rights associations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire consisted of () statements distributed over six domains. The results of the study showed that the media, in Saudi Arabia, are making efforts to provide educational and raising-awareness content on international humanitarian law. However, they need to improve the quality and comprehensiveness of a such content. In addition, there is a real weakness of targeted media campaigns and lack of interactive programs, which affect the level of awareness among the public. The study also showed that the media shows limited interaction in explaining the applications of international humanitarian law and needs to enhance coverage and analyze topics in depth, and that media content attracts the attention of the public but lacks direct interaction such as comments and discussions. In light of these results, the study recommended training media professionals on media coverage related to international humanitarian law through specialized courses and workshops in cooperation with legal experts and media institutions, in order to increase the quality and accuracy of media content and ensure the provision of reliable and comprehensive information that enhances the public's understanding of legal issues, launching sustainable and targeted awareness campaigns to spread the culture of international humanitarian law, including traditional and digital media, with a focus on clarifying the charters of international law and its importance, to enhance community awareness on an ongoing and renewed basis, and increase understanding and commitment to the principles of international humanitarian law.
