المستخلص: تعد اليمن من أبرز الأماكن في شبه الجزيرة العربية لمكانتها الجغرافية والحضارية إذ أنها تتميز بسبق حضاري في مجتمعات الجزيرة العربية في عصورها القديمة وهي واحدة من الحضارات القديمة كـ(بلاد الرافدين، وحضارة بلاد وادي النيل) تناولتها العديد من المصادر المدونة وأولها التوراة التي تعد المصدر التاريخي الأول الذي عمل على إبقاء ذكر منطقة الشرق الأدنى القديم في أذهان الأجيال خاصة بعد تأثير المنطقة بالعديد من الغزوات الفارسية واليونانية والرومانية، فضلا عن غياب المكتشفات الأثرية ومقارنة مع المعلومات المقتضبة التي تقدمها الكتابات الكلاسيكية، ولكن بعد انتشار الاكتشافات الأثرية خلال القرن التاسع عشر وبداية اكتشاف وحل الكتابات المسمارية والهيروغليفية هذا الأمر الذي أحدث ثورة في مجال قراءة التاريخ ولولا ذلك لبقيت التوراة مدة طويلة من الزمن مصدرا لا يمكن الاستغناء عنه فيما يخص تاريخ الشرق الأدنى لاسيما الجزيرة العربية عامة واليمن خاصة. إذ نجد ضمن أسفار التوراة العديد من النصوص التي تشير إلى اليمن وممالكها القديمة وإلى تجارتها التي امتدت إلى مساحات وأقاليم واسعة في العالم القديم، ونلاحظ أن هذه الرايات لا نبالغ إذا قلنا أن أغلبها أو معظمها لا تخلو من الغلو والمبالغة والأساطير وشيء من التزييف لذا فأننا في بحثنا هذا تطرقنا إلى أهم الممالك التي ورد ذكرها في التوراة وأهم تلك الروايات التي جاء فيها ذكر اليمن وممالكها وما جاء في المصادر الأخرى من معلومات تبين حقيقة أو زيف ما ورد فيها.
