|a تسعى هذه الدراسة إلى تحرير القول في ردة عبيد الله بن جحش مع بيان المنهج الذي ينبغي سلوكه حيال المرويات التاريخية للسيرة عموما، وأن إعمال قواعد النقد الحديثي في هذه المرويات لتجنيبها الضعيف والموضوع مع نبل مقصده وسمو غايته فإنه يفضي عند تطبيقه إلى مشكلات منهجية تؤثر سلبا في البناء التاريخي لتلك المرويات، فكان هذا البحث نموذجا يتناول قضية ردة عبيد الله بن جحش ويبين أنه توفي على النصرانية مع مناقشة ما صدر من دراسات عن بعض الباحثين الذين شذوا فذهبوا إلى أنه مات على الإسلام ولم يخرج من دائرة الصحبة مخالفين بذلك إجماع أهل السير والتاريخ.
|b This article seeks to undertake discourse analysis in the apostasy of Ubayd Allah b. Jahsh, while also elucidating the methodology that needs to be followed when dealing with historical narratives in the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in general. However, usage of modern rules of criticism when dealing with these accounts in order to eliminate weak and forged narratives, although carried out with the best of intentions, leads to methodological problems that have a negative effect on the historical structure of such narratives. This article, therefore, takes up the topic of the apostasy of Ubayd Allah b. Jahsh and demonstrates that he died a Christian. Attention is also given to studies carried out by some scholars who have arrived at a different conclusion, namely that he died a Muslim and a Companion of the Prophet (pbuh), a conclusion that goes against the consensus of those specialized in the literature of the Prophet’s biography and history.
