المستخلص: This work studies a literary work that objectively and meticulously depicts historical data from the last quarter of the 19th century and that relates to the significant events of the French colonization of Algeria. The choice of the literature is due to a lack of testimony. The Algerian writers, who carved the literary productions, evolved, in their works, around their misery and torments. They had not completely restored the historical context of the period studied. Neither did the colonial writers devote their pen to the stories of the country in which they lived. They were colonial thinkers, almost ethnic cleansers, insofar as they advocated theories to oppress the natives. This work aims to situate and investigate the colonial phenomenon by demonstrating how it progressed through discrimination in the fiscal, agricultural and social policy against Algerians.

Ce travail étudie une œuvre qui enquête et analyse objectivement et minutieusement des données historiques du dernier quart du 19ème siècle et qui relate les évènements majeurs de la colonisation française de l'Algérie. Ce choix s'impose à cause d'un déficit de témoignage. Les écrivains algériens, qui avaient écrit, ils évoluèrent dans leurs travaux autour de leur misère et tourments. Ils n'avaient pas restitué le contexte historique de l'époque étudiée. Par ailleurs, les écrivains coloniaux n'avaient pas non plus consacré leur plume aux histoires du pays dans lequel ils vivaient. C'étaient des penseurs coloniaux, presque des nettoyeurs ethniques, dans la mesure où ils prônaient des théories farfelues pour mieux brimer et oppresser les indigènes. Cette œuvre, a pour but de situer le phénomène colonial en démontrant comment il a progressé par une politique fiscale, agricole et sociale discriminatoire contre les algériens.
