This study has showed that the contribution of the Yemen Industrial Sec-tor in the GDP was low and its growth rates were decreasing during 95-2002. This low contribution of the Industrial Sector in the GDP during 95-2002 was a result of many obstacles and problems that are facing the industry sec-tor, particularly the transformation and extraction (without oil production) such as: high production costs, low production efficiency, low technology use, low quality and packing, ietc. These obstacles and problems reflects many challenges that are facing the industry sector such as: weak construction base, most of the goods produc-tion depends on the import raw materials, the difficulties of getting loans es-pecially for small and medium industries, in addition to the lands problems. Despite the low performance and contribution in GDP and the decreasing growth rates of the industry sector during 95-2002, there are some positive indictors which show the possibility of improving and enhancing the varies activities of the industry sector in Yemen, those positive indicators include : The positive discovery about the oil and gas reserve (around 5 Billion barrels of oil and between 12-15 trillions cubic meter of natural gas), in addition to the discovery of commercial quantities of many materials (miner-als, gold, iron, zinc, etc). The study concluded that in order to improve and to enhance the performance and the industry's production in Yemen, there are many steps and ef-fective procedures that should be taken such as: (1) the need for a real struc-tural reform in the domestic economy in general and in the industry sector in particular; (2) still the private sector needs a lot of assistance and support such as: local and foreign investment; (3) strengthening the relation between the industry sector and the other various sectors of the economy.
