|b International Observation of Sudanese’s Elections - April, 2010 This article addresses the last elections that were conducted in Sudan in April-2010 in terms of their safety of conduct and their fairness under the international observation and recognition of its results. These elections were run within the framework of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (2005). Despite their reservation on many issues relating to the elections process, the political parties decided to contest. However, many of them later on withdrew and boycotted these elections on the ground that they would not be fair. A quite big number of international and regional organizations participated in observing the elections and recognized their results. This article argues that the main purpose of the great momentum for international observers is not to assure the transparency and fairness of the elections, but to work on the recognition of its results no matter what those results may be so as to shorten the way to the separation of the South.
