المستخلص: Economic development is necessary in Africa, which is rich with minerals and natural resources. In fact Africa is suffering from many economic, political and social crises, despite the vast potential it has, which can help it be competitive and efficient in the world order. However there are a couple of internal and external obstacles which prevent that development. This is why one has to determine the main factors which led to the absence of a real economic development and seek solutions to minimize the development gap of the continent. This paper attempts to focus on the main causes of that absence, its affect on other sectors and initial initiatives. Finally, it will seek to bring answers and key suggestions which can help African development and allow to overcome its hindrances
