المستخلص: Why so some management practices take root and remain viable and others fade and die? This paper aims at exploring some of TQM elements that are highly stressed in the Islamic teachings. Those elements are leadership, customer focus, people management, and performance measurement. It is hoped that this brief attempt will serve as a step for future groundwork for the construction of a framework for TQM implementation. In the Islamic world, several factors should contribute to the success of Total Quality Management. The author shed light on those factors that are considered a part of every Moslem’s employee’s life and culture. This paper argue that operating in Moslem countries have a competitive advantage over other developed countries where Islamic teachings are important to every employee regardless his/her assigned position, which the western countries lack and are attempting to look for alternatives based on different theories. The paper investigates some of TQM elements in the light of Quran and Sauna. It looks to various elements widely emphasised in the implementation of TQM and examine their potential existing in Islam. The major sources of management knowledge are the direct teachings of Islam, which is included in the Qur’an and in the tradition of prophet Mohamed (SAW). To explain the concepts of Islamic administration further, the author refereed to the writings of leading Islamic scholars and pioneers of Islamic administration.
