المستخلص: Employment is an issue that youths all over the world suffer from, in spite of countries attention to giving priority to the education of their children, by using up-to-date academic programs, educational plans, and applying recent directions that meet the needs and requirements of labor market in our ever changing world. From another side, most youths around the world are vulnerable to the danger of unemployment, partial employment or full employment but with lower wages than adult employees, and persons with disabilities are vulnerable to greater danger .When these individuals enter labor market with limited education and skills or no skills at all ,they find great difficulty in competing with people without disabilities. Disability may limit work choices, as hearing disability – for example – has negative effects on a lot of features of personality such as functional side, because communication and environmental difficulties hinder the achievement of educational and vocational outcomes. Moreover social bias makes employers hesitant in employing most persons with disabilities, because of factors related to attitudes towards disability, and their vocational maturity. So, the present paper tries to highlight the following points: First: why does the field of special education address employment of persons with disability?, Second: employment of people with disability and variables that affect world of employment. Third: wrong concepts related to employment of persons with disability, Fourth: vocational maturity and decision making among persons with disability. Fifth: orientations of labor market and their implementations for youths. Sixth: work outcomes among persons with disability. Seventh: factors that contribute in unsatisfactory vocational outcomes. Eighth: issues of persons with disability transition from school to work. Ninth: Strategies of the transition of persons with disability from school to work. تعد قضية التوظيف قضية يعاني منها معظم الشباب على مستوى العالم، بالرغم من اهتمام الدول بوضع تعليم أبنائها من أولوياتها الاستراتيجية، وذلك باستحداث البرامج الأكاديمية، والخطط الدراسية، وتطبيق التوجهات الحديثة التي تلبي احتياجات ومتطلبات سوق العمل في عالم متغير. ومن جانب أخر، لعل معظم الشباب حول العالم أكثر عرضة لخطر البطالة أو التوظيف الجزئي أو التوظيف الكامل بأجور أدنى من أجور الموظفين البالغين، ولعل ذوي الإعاقة معرضين لخطر أكبر. فمثل هؤلاء الأفراد بدخولهم إلى سوق العمل بقليل من التعليم وقليل من المهارات أو بلا مهارات يواجهون صعوبة في التنافس مع العاديين. وقد تحد الإعاقة البعض من خياراتهم الوظيفية حيث تترك الإعاقة السمعية -على سبيل المثال-أثار سالبة على كثيرا من جوانب الشخصية ومنها الجانب الوظيفي للفرد حيث تؤدي صعوبات التواصل والعوائق البيئية إلى عوائق محتملة فيما يتعلق بتحقيق النتائج التعليمية والمهنية، كما أن التحامل الاجتماعي يجعل أصحاب العمل يترددوا في توظيف معظم الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة وذلك لعوامل قد ترجع إلى الإعاقة والاتجاه نحوها أو لعوامل مرتبطة بالنضج المهني لديهم. لذلك تحاول ورقة العمل الحالية إلقاء الضوء على ما يلي: أولا: لماذا توظيف ذوي الإعاقة في مجال التربية الخاصة؟، ثانيا: توظيف ذوي الإعاقة والمتغيرات التي تؤثر في عالم التوظيف، ثالثا: مفاهيم خاطئة ذات علاقة بتوظيف ذوي الإعاقة، رابعا: النضج المهني واتخاذ القرار المهني لذوي الإعاقة، خامسة: اتجاهات سوق العمل وتطبيقاتها بالنسبة للشباب، سادسا: نواتج العمل لذوي الإعاقة، سابعا: العوامل التي تسهم في النتائج المهنية غير المرضية، ثامنا: قضايا انتقال ذوي الإعاقة من المدرسة إلى العمل، تاسعا: استراتيجيات انتقال ذوي الإعاقة من المدرسة إلى العمل، عاشرا: توصيات لذوى العلاقة بمجال التربية الخاصة.
