المستخلص: مثلت الويب بيئة جديدة لمهنة المكتبات استلزمت العديد من التحديثات التي يجب أن تصبغ بها مهنة المكتبات وممتهنيها، إلى جانب العديد من المتغيرات المتلاحقة التي تحمل لونا تقنيا أعاد تشكيل بنية وإجراءات وأنشطة مهنة المكتبات. وقد جاء هذا البحث ليناقش علاقة التأثير والتأثر بين مهنة المكتبات وممتهنيها وبين الويب وطبيعتها ومقتضياتها التقنية الرقمية. وتناول الباحث هذه العلاقة في جوانب محددة تمثلت في تناول ماهية المهنة والمهنيين ثم طبيعة المتغيرات التي القت بها الويب على المهنة وأثرها على أخصائي المعلومات، وما أسهمت به الويب في تغيير مكملات العمل في مهنة المكتبات ثم رؤى ومقترحات التطوير.

The web represented a new environment for the library profession that necessitated many updates that the profession of libraries and their professionals should be equipped with, along with many successive variables that carry a technical color that has reshaped the structure, procedures, and activities of the library profession. This research seeks to discuss the two-way relationship of impact between the library profession and professionals and between the web, its nature, and its digital technical requirements. The researcher addressed this relationship in specific aspects, which were to deal with the essence of the profession and professionals and then the nature of the variables that the web has cast on the profession and their impact on the information specialist, and the contribution of the web in changing work supplements in the library profession, and then the development visions and proposals.
