المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى الوقوف مع ما أسهم به علماء الأمة في تأليف علومهم وتدوينها منذ زمن مبكر، ولما كان خلف هذه العلوم علماء أجلاء على اختلاف مشاربهم، واختصاصهم، أفنوا حياتهم في القراءة والتمحيص للعلوم والكتابة فيها، فكانت علوم العربية بكل أبعادها ما بين نحو، وصرف، وأدب، وبلاغة، وعروض مجال إبداع لهؤلاء العلماء فأحسنوا في التأليف والتصنيف. ولما كان لهؤلاء مكانة في تطور حضارة الأمة وعلومها حرص بعض العلماء تسليط الضوء على جوانب مهمة من حياتهم، وتكوينهم العلمي، وتمحيص ما كتبوه في سلسلة من المؤلفات تعرف بطبقات العلماء أو مرتب العلماء، أو سيرة الأعلام، وقد كان الإمام أبو الطيب اللغوي ت315 هـ من أوائل العلماء الذين حرصوا على تدوين حركة العلم، والعلماء في تتابع تاريخي إلى عصره، فأبرز مجموعة من العلماء على اختلاف تخصصهم ما بين اللغة، والنحو والصرف؛ فضلا عما حفل به الكتاب من قضايا مهمة كالمذاهب النحوية وقضية تلحين القراء والمعجم اللغوي وغيرها من اللفتات العلمية المهمة في هذا الكتاب، ما يدل على أهمية هذا الكتاب كحلقة مهمة في كتب التراجم وخاصة النحاة واللغويين.

This research aims to stand with what the nation’s scholars have contributed to authoring and codifying their sciences from an early time, whereas behind these sciences there were distinguished scholars of all backgrounds and specializations, they spent their lives in reading and examining the sciences and writing about them. The Arabic sciences, in all its dimensions, between grammar, morphology, literature, rhetoric, and the offers of a creative field for these scholars, were better in composition and classification. And since they had a place in the development of the nation’s civilization and its sciences, some scholars were keen to shed light on important aspects of their lives and their scientific formation and scrutinize what they wrote in a series of books, it is known as the layers or the ranks, or the biography of scholars. Imam Abu Al-Tayyib Al-Linguist, 315 AH, was one of the first scholars who were keen to record the movement of science and scholars in a historical sequence to his time, so he distinguished a group of scholars with different specializations between language, grammar and morphology. In addition to the important issues of the book, such as grammatical doctrines, the issue of composing the readers, the lexicon, and other important scientific signs in this book, which indicates the importance of this book as an important link in the books of translations, especially grammarians and linguists.
