المستخلص: "كان للأمثال العربية في الفكر النحوي القديم أثر مهم في دعائم التقعيد النحوي والترجيح، وقد حاز كتاب ارتشاف الضرب قصب السبق فيه، وقد بين هذا البحث ما كان من دور في توجيه الخلاف والتأثير فيه بالمثل العربي، وقد استعمله أبو حيان لحسم الخلاف في النحو والصرف كثيرا، ولترجيح رأي على آخر، أو لبيان الجواز في شيء إن لم يكن موجودا في كلامهم، وقد مثل على ذلك بالتطبيقات من الارتساف، ومنه مجيء خبر عسى ككان منصوبا والخلاف حوله، وقد وجه بالمثل العربي القديم: عسى الغوير أبؤسا. ومن ذلك جواز الوصف بـــ ما، وقد وجه بالمثل العربي: لأمر ما جدع قصير أنفه. ومنه: وقوع ظرف الزمان خبرا عن الجثة، وقد مثل له بالمثل: اليوم خمر، وغدا أمر. ومنه جواز حذف الخبر المعلوم، وقد وجه بالمثل العربي: حسبك ينم الناس، ومن ذلك: في الأفعال الناقصة، تجري (جاء) مجرى (صار) وقد وجه بالمثل العربي: ما جاءت حاجتك. ومنه: النصب على الشرط والجزاء، وقد وجه بالمثل العربي: لأعطينك خوفا وفرقا. ولأكفن عنك حذر زيد، ومنه: النصب على تقدير (في) وقد وجه بالمثل العربي: مطرنا السهل والجبل. وغير ذلك من المسائل التي أثبتت دور الأمثال في ارتشاف الضرب من لسان العرب في توجيه الخلاف النحوي وأحيانا حسمه. ونتج عن البحث: ١- حسمت الأمثال في كتب النحاة كثيرا من مسائل الخلاف النحوي والصرفي. ٢- حوى كتاب ارتشاف الضرب بين دفاته كثيرا من الأمثال العربية التي جرت على لسانهم. ٣- استعملت الأمثال في الارتشاف للترجيح والتنويع في الاستدلال."
