تتناول رواية: ((بيت السناري)) أحد أهم معالم تراثنا المعماري بالقاهرة، إنه قصر قديم يعد أيقونة بارزة لفن العمارة الإسلامية، بناه إبراهيم السناري في زمن المماليك. وهي رواية تمزج أحداث التاريخ المثيرة بالخيال الشائق للروائي عمار علي حسن الذي سلط الضوء على تاريخ هذا الأثر المهم منذ اتخذه علماء وفنانو الحملة الفرنسية مقرا لهم، ووضعوا فيه دراساتهم وأبحاثهم التي أسفرت عن كتابة موسوعة (وصف مصر) وحتى تم تحويله إلى مركز إشعاع وإحياء لموروثنا الثقافي، ليقدم المعارض الفنية، والعروض المسرحية، والندوات، وورش العمل، والتدريب على الحرف اليدوية، ومراسم الأطفال، والمحاضرات، والحفلات الموسيقية، وجميع هذه الفعاليات تشرف عليها مكتبة الإسكندرية التي يتابع أنشطتها وفود من جميع أنحاء العالم.
Dr. Ammar Ali Hassan's novel, (Beit Al-Sinari), deals with an old palace which is a prominent icon of the Islamic Architecture. It was built by Ibrahim al-Sinari in the time of the Mamluks. The author in his novel blends the exciting historical events of the palace with his own imagination. He also highlights the palace modern history and its important impact at the time of the French Campaign. The scientists and artists who accompanied the Campaign settled in the palace as the best place to live in, and cnduct their studies and research which resulted in the writing of the famous encyclopedia (Description of Egypt). Now it has been converted- under the supervision of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina- into a luminary cultural center for the revival of our cultural heritage. In this respect it offers: art exhibitions, theater performances, seminars, Children's ceremonies, Lectures, concerts, and all these activities are followed by the Egyptians, the Arabs, and delegations from all over the world.
