المستخلص: هدف البحث الحالي إلى التعرف على مستوى مهارات الاستيعاب القرائي في اللغة الإنجليزية لدى تلاميذ المرحلة الابتدائية بدولة الكويت وعلاقتها بمهارات التفكير الإبداعي لديهم، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث قامت الباحثة بإعداد اختبار لمهارات الاستيعاب القرائي في اللغة الإنجليزية، ولقياس مهارات التفكير الإبداعي قامت الباحثة باستخدام اختبار التفكير الإبداعي لتورانس (تقنين/أمير خان، ١٩٩١)، وتم تطبيق أداتي البحث على عينة قوامها (٨٣) تلميذة بالصف الخامس بالمرحلة الابتدائية وتوصل البحث إلى: وجود مستوى متوسط من مهارات الاستيعاب القرائي في اللغة الإنجليزية لدى تلميذات المرحلة الابتدائية عينة البحث حيث بلغت قيمة "ت" (2.25) وهي قيمة دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى (0.05)، وجود علاقه ارتباطية موجبة دالة إحصائيا عند مستوى دلالة (0.01) بين درجات التلميذات عينة البحث على اختبار مهارات الاستيعاب القرائي في اللغة الإنجليزية وبين درجاتهم على اختبار مهارات التفكير الإبداعي حيث بلغت قيمة معامل الارتباط (0.435).

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of reading comprehension skills in the English language among primary school students in the State of Kuwait and their relationship to their creative thinking skills, and to achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher prepared a test for reading comprehension skills in the English language, and to measure the skills of creative thinking, the researcher used the test of creative thinking of Torrance (Standardization/Amir Khan, 1991), and the two research tools were applied to a sample of (83) students in the fifth grade in the primary stage and the research concluded: The existence of an average level of reading comprehension skills in the English language among the pupils of the primary stage of the research sample, where the value of "T" (2.25), which is the value of a function statistically at the level of (0.05), the existence of a positive correlation statistically significant at the level of significance (0.01) between the scores of the pupils of the research sample on the test of reading comprehension skills in the English language and their scores on the test of creative thinking skills, where the value of the correlation coefficient (0.435).
