المستخلص: يتناول البحث قدوم الأغزاز بلاد المغرب والأندلس من مصر في (ق ٥ه/ ١١م)، واستقرارهم فيها، حتى صاروا جزءا منها، ويرصد البحث أصولهم، وزمن دخولهم، واختلاف المؤرخين في الحقبة التي وجدوا فيها، والغرض الذي وفدوا من أجله، وتعددت بواعثه تبعا لتطور الأحداث، وتحولت من أهداف جماعة أو دولة إلى أطماع شخصية للوصول إلى السلطة، وتخلل ذلك تتبع الأدوار التي أداها الغز والمناصب التي تقلدوها، فتأتي المكانة العسكرية والقتالية في المقدمة، تليها الأعمال السياسية والإدارية، وقدموا في البروتوكولات السياسية والاستقبالات الرسمية، وعملوا في سلك الشرطة، وحرسا خاصا لبعض الخلفاء، وارتبطوا بالمجتمع في المغرب والأندلس بعلاقات اجتماعية وثقافية، وذيل البحث بمحاولة لمعرفة مصير الأغزاز وما آل إليه أمرهم.

The paper discusses the arrival of the Ghuzz in Morocco and al-Andalus from Egypt during the 5th/11th century and their settlement in those lands until they became part of them. Their origins, the time of their arrival, the divergence of opinion among historians as to the era in which they were there, as well as the reasons for which they came. Those reasons were various and changed along with developments. Some of them were group or state goals while others were personal motivated by the desire for power. This was reflected in the variety of roles the Ghuzz undertook and the positions they held, starting with military and combat roles and followed by political and administrative roles. Some of them were promoted in political protocols and official receptions, while others worked in the police forces or as private guards to some of the caliphs. The Ghuzz came to be bound up with the society of Morocco and al-Andalus through social and cultural ties. Finally, an attempt is made to investigate the fate of the Ghuzz.
