المستخلص: يعتبر المركز القومي للبحوث أكبر مؤسسة علمية متعددة التخصصات في مصر والعالم العربي والقارة الأفريقية ويتبع وزارة البحث العلمي المصرية، تأسس المركز عام 1956م ويهدف إلى النهوض بالبحوث العلمية الأساسية والتطبيقية وبخاصة ما يتصل منها بالصناعة والصحة العامة، وسائر المقومات الرئيسية للاقتصاد القومي في نطاق السياسة العامة للدولة، وارتباطها بخطط التنمية. ويداوم المركز على تحديث أهدافه برؤية مستقبلية واستراتيجيات التطوير. ومن داخل هذا الكيان الكبير تعمل مكتبة المركز القومي للبحوث مكتبة متخصصة في العلوم البحتة والتطبيقية، تهتم بتقديم أحدث مصادر المعرفة ونشر البحوث. ومن هنا فقد كان التفكير في إنشاء مستودع رقمي مؤسسي للمركز القومي للبحوث، والتعريف بالإنتاج العلمي لمنتسبي المركز من باحثين وأساتذة وما تضمه مكتبة المركز من مصادر معلومات، وإتاحته لمجتمع الباحثين من داخل وخارج المركز. بالإضافة إلى توظيف استراتيجية خاصة بتوفير عنوان موقع إلكتروني دائم للأعمال الخاصة بالمركز والتي تمكن الباحثين من الاستشهاد بها في أبحاثهم بشكل موثق.

The National Research Centre is considered the largest multidisciplinary scientific institution in Egypt, the Arab world and the African continent and is affiliated with the Egyptian Ministry of Scientific Research. The center was established in 1956 AD and aims to advance basic and applied scientific research, especially those related to industry and public health, and all the main components of the national economy within the scope of the state’s public policy and its connection with development plans. The center keeps updating its objectives with a future vision and development strategies. Within this large entity, the National Research Centre Library operates a library specialized in pure and applied sciences, concerned with providing the latest sources of knowledge and publishing research. Hence, the thought was to establish an institutional digital repository for the National Research Centre, and to introduce the scientific production of the center’s employees, including researchers and professors, and what the center’s library contains of information sources, and to make it available to the community of researchers from inside and outside the center. In addition to employing a strategy for providing a permanent website address for the center's business, which enables researchers to cite it in their research in a documented manner.
