المستخلص: تهدف الدراسة إلى وضع خطة لتنقية واستبعاد المجموعة التي لا تسد احتياجات المستفيدين في مكتبة كلية الآداب، بعد معرفة واقع المواد الثقافية فيها وتحديد المعوقات التي تواجه هذه العملية وسبل معالجتها وتكوين لجنة ذات كفاءة وخبرة موضوعية لتساهم في هذه العملية وليكون لها أثر فعال في عملية الاختيار من خلال تقويم المجموعة بشكل دوري وفعال باستعمال المنهج المسحي حيث تم اختيار الكتب عينة الدراسة (كتاب واحد) من كل قسم رئيسي من تصنيف ديوي العشري ثم فحصها من ناحية عدد وتواريخ إعارتها وسنوات نشرها مع وصولها إلى المكتبة و أرقام و تواريخ تسجيلها لتدقيقها مع السجلات و أرقام طلبها لتدقيقها مع بطاقات الفهرس العام و فهرس الرف من خلال الملاحظة و المقابلة و المعايشة الميدانية. أما اهم النتائج فالمكتبة تفتقر إلى سياستي تنمية المجموعة وتنقيتها واستبعادها مع أماكن لحفظها ولا توجد دراسة لتقويم المجموعة. أما اهم التوصيات هو إعداد سياسة لاختيار وتنمية المجموعة مع النظر في الخطة المقترحة وتشكيل لجنة لاختيار المجموعة وعلى عاتقها تنقية المجموعة واستبعادها والاستفادة من تطبيق الخطة على مجموعة المكتبة الأخرى غير الكتب (كالدوريات والرسائل الجامعية والأقراص ... الخ).

The study aims to develop an implementation plan for the exclusion of the group that does not meet the needs of bene ficiaries in the library of the faculty of arts , after knowing the reality of cultural materials identifying the constraints that guide this process and means of dealing with the composition of the efficient and experience an objective to contribute to this process and have an effective impact in the selection process of during the group calendar on a regular basis and effective use of the survey method was chosen as the books sample of the study ( one book ) of each section amaj or Dewey decimal classification and then examined in ferms of the Number and dates of these secondment and years of publication with access to the library and the numbers and dates of registration of the audit with the records and numbers request and verification with the general catalogue cards and an catalogue of the shelf through observation interviews and field mentoring ,the most important results the library lacks my policy development group , purification and excluded with the limited a availability, there is no study to evaluate the group. The most important recommendations is to develop a policy for the selection and development group with the consideration of the proposed plan and the formation of a committee to select the group and be the same in the purification and exclusion and to take advantage implementation of the plan on a library other than books as periodicals , thesiss ,desertation academic and CD.....etc.
