المستخلص: This thesis is a study of ( national role of Tikreet natives in Iraq 1958 – 1968 ). The role of Tikreet natives was clear by resisting of British occupation of Iraq on 1914. In spite of limited administrative role of Tikreet city, its national role was great . Many of Tikreet personalities con tributed to create contemporary Iraq, besides belonging of its men to Military schools , owing to national motives. The thesis consists of three chapters, introduction and a conclusion, besides a prelude of Tikreet natives role in preparation of 14 July revolution in 1958. The first chapter studies the effect of Tikreet natives and their attitude towards political developments in Iraq 1958 – 1963. The second chapter discusses the effect of Tikreet natives in Iraq during the period between Feb-8 up to Nov-18, 1963 , by their influence in preparation of Feb-8, 1963 revolution and their attitude towards revolution. The third chapter is a study of national Tikreet natives in Iraq during the time between 1963 – 1968.

Though the study of the period under consideration reached the following conclusions: - The officers of Tikreet natives contributed to success the revolution of July 14,1958, by their real contribution in the revolution with their brother’s officers of other units. - After revolution, there were two different trends in Tikreet city ; The first was unified national trend, and stand at its head the Arab Ba’th socialist party, and the second trend was territorial trend, stand at its vanguard the communist party. But Tikreet natives refused the second trend and stand with national trend. - Tikreet natives continued to challenge of ‘Abdul Karim Qasim, because of he didn’t limit the works and activity of communist party. They contributed and supported Al- shawaf Movement in 1959. and they contributed to challenge and resistance of Qasim regime, and commarod Saddam Hussain was in the vangnard of the city sons who contributed resistance’s process against Qasim in the Rashid street. - Educational boards contributed to resist the power and the communist party, by spreading of national among students.
