المستخلص: Tourism is the primary source of national income in many countries throughout the world; it plays an essential role in economic activities and the labor market. Therefore, destination countries are always trying to increase the number of tourists through studying tourism markets, which plays an important role in the field of tourism This research is seeking to establish and activate the role of tour guide, which is the most important human element in tourism system in the field of tourism marketing and sales. At the present the tour guide plays a role in marketing represented in the sale of what is known as optional programs, but the research is intended to develop the role of tour guide to become a marketing and sales man for both traditional tourist programs and current tourist programs produced by travel agencies. The research sheds light on similarities and differences between tour guide and salesman, and also presents skills of the tour guide that could be used in the process of successful marketing. \
