المستخلص: Technology is widespread in most organisations (Bocij et al, 2008), and as innovations in technology continue to advance it is helpful to examine the nature of the relationship between human use and technological development. This is because the use of technology within organisation is not free from risk (D'Arcy, 2007) and some organisations are better placed than others to manage this risk and reap the benefits of technological advancement. One such area of technological development is the use of mobile technology devices such as media tablets and smart phones. This study comprises an assessment of Google Inc., one of the world's largest and most profitable organisations and examines how their employees have responded to the use of mobile technology devices. Five semi-structured interviews were conducted with employees across the spectrum and the overwhelming conclusion was that mobile technology has provided nothing but benefits for the organisation. These benefits have been realised in two areas (i) employee engagement; and (ii) increased productivity. However, as a wider observation, it is determined that the pre-existing culture of Google has as much to do with these perceived benefits as the technology itself, and this presents an exciting area for further research.
