المستخلص: Vehicle ad-hoc networks (VANET) is the concept of networking together many vehicles "on the fly". The network can be used to improve traffic conditions and traffic safety. To improve traffic using VANETs, vehicles on the network must know their current location relative to other vehicles and relative to the surrounding environment. As a result, vehicle localization is a key area of research in the study of VANETs. The goal of this thesis was to develop a simulation whereby a vehicle determined its location from other vehicles on the network. This thesis outlines how this simulation was created. It begins with a review of the critical literature surrounding localization techniques, focusing on techniques used in VANETs. In the development section, one of these techniques was selected and analyzed to determine what is involved in making it work as a simulation. The simulation design is then presented and broken down into its individual components and described in detail. At each stage in the development example results of simulation were presented. Finally the output of the overall simulation is shown and discussed, with a conclusion and recommendations presented.
