المستخلص: The vast amount of information available online allows patients and their families to access and obtain a very diverse range of health related information online. With the explosion of information available on the social media, health related information and health care is not a “black box” to patients and their families. The number of Saudi internet users reached 13,600,000 in 2012 and Saudi Arabia accounted for the largest Arabic language online digital content in the Arab region. Saudi caregivers of Autistic children are using social network for Autism related information. Although they are searching using and sharing information, they are sceptic of the quality of online information. Participants always search for more information to support the initial findings even if it was found in a specialist account. Findings from the study inform decision makers of the current status of Autism related information available online and they way Saudi caregivers are using it, which should be looked at in more details for better utilization of social networks in health care and patients' wellbeing.
