المستخلص: This Study covers the intellectual property rights of copyrights and related rights, industrial property, including trademarks and geographical indications. It considers the intellectual property rights as the means to protect and reward innovation. The study also shows that the essence of the legislation of intellectual property is to create a balance between private interest and public interest in the protection of innovation. Indeed, creativity is a public good; hence, the creation of a sustainable balance between these different aspects is fundamental to assign the means to protect intellectual property. Many Arab countries made great strides in the field of intellectual property protection, because they consider this the fundamental to expanding the knowledge base , encourage innovation and to establish a favorable atmosphere for sustainable projects, and to create commercial awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights, The combination of intellectual property and development policies allows infrastructure, environment and culture consistency and stimulates inventions and innovations to achieve economic growth. The revision of strategies and development policies from the viewpoint of intellectual property rights protection builds confidence and keeps pace with rapid changes in international trade, and cultural and technological developments . This study aims to highlight the efforts made by Arab countries in the field of intellectual property, and to identify countries that have succeeded in protecting their intellectual creations. However , the situation analysis and evaluation of this issue in the Arab countries reveal that most of these countries still have to do a lot in order to fully benefit from the progress achieved in this area of intellectual property rights protection. \
