المستخلص: تعني الحداثة كل جديد، متغاير، مختلف عن الأصل، يتطلع لاكتشاف عوالم مستقبلية. وهي ظاهرة حضارية متعددة أشكال. وتعد نشأة الحداثة ثورة على كل ما كان وأعادت النظر في معطيات الحياة ولكن برؤية غريبة. ولأن هذه الاتجاهات والرؤى الحداثية تباينت في شدتها واعتدالها فقد اعتبرها البعض انفجاراً معرفياً مهد الطريق للطاقات الذهنية الكامنة لتنفجر وللأفكار والإبداعات لتتصارع. فكانت اتجاهات الحداثة في التصميم هي الحل لمجابهة المأساة البشرية. حيث الحاجة لإعادة بناء للمساكن بإمكانيات محدودة جداً. مما ترتب عليه تنفيذ تصميمات وظيفية وبسيطة تلبي الحاجات الضرورية للمستخدمين دون التجميل بالزخارف وبخامات حديثة قليلة الأسعار. كانت الاختزالية هي أهم مبدأ من مبادئ اتجاه الحداثة وعدم استخدام الميراث القديم من الطرز والزخارف وغيرها من الأفكار التي تُحيد بالمصمم عن الهدف الرئيسي للتصميم ألا وهو الوظيفة المصمم من أجلها. ومن أهم نظريات اتجاه الحداثة (حركة الديستيل ومدرسة الباو هاوس والنظرية والآرت نوفو والآرت ديكو). جاء نمو الحداثة بشكل طبيعي نتيجة المتغيرات الاجتماعية التي نتجت عن الحرب العالمية الأولى وما رافقها من دمار. وظهرت خلال هذه الفترة مواقف فكرية عكست الإيمان بضرورة إيجاد حياة أفضل من هنا كانت الحداثة عملاً ثورياً يؤسس لأساليب ومناهج جديدة تحاول الانفصال عن الماضي وتظهر كراهيتها للتاريخ والزخرفة، وتتجه نحو التركيز على الوظيفية الواضحة المستمدة من عصر الماكينة مع التأكيد على العقلانية. يتضح أن هدف التصميم الداخلي لتيار الحداثة هو توفير بيئة إنسانية مريحة ومسيطر عليها تحقيق الوظيفة بأفضل صورة. وأثناء السعي لتطبيق الوظيفة أولاً في التصميم تحررت الأفكار من الماضي وقاموا المصممين بالاهتمام بالتقدم التكنولوجي واستخدام آليات التجريد وتوظيف المواد والتقنيات الحديثة في التصميم الداخلي. الحركات التصميمية التالية لاتجاه الحداثة: (مذهب الوحشية والحداثة المتأخرة والتكنولوجيا المتقدمة (High Teck) والتفكيكية وحركة ما بعد الحداثة). التصميم الحديث كلمة التصميم الحديث تعني التصميمات التي ظهرت في أواخر القرن 19 بينما كلمة التصميم المعاصر تعني تصميمات عصرنا الحالي، كذلك التصميم الحديث يعتمد على خلق فراغات هندسية بخطوط مستقيمة تبعاً للوظيفة المنوط التصميم لها بينما التصميم المعاصر يعمل على تطويع الخطوط المستقيمة بخطوط ناعمة واستخدام الأشكال الهندسية لخلق فراغ يمكن له الاتحاد مع الطبيعة باستخدام مواد طبيعية بصورة حديثة ومناسبة.

Modernity means everything new, heterogeneous, and different from origin and looking to discover future worlds. It is a multi-cultural phenomenon of form. The emergence of modernity is considered to be a revolution on everything that was and reexamined the data of life but with a strange vision. Because these trends and visions of modernity varied in intensity and moderation, some considered it as an explosion of knowledge paved the way for the potential mental abilities to explode and ideas and innovations to compete. Modernism in design was the solution to confronting human tragedy, where the need for reconstruction of housing had very limited possibilities. This resulted in the implementation of functional and simple designs to meet the needs of users without the need for cosmetic decorations and also using modern materials with low prices. Simplification was the most important principle of the trend of modernity. The lack of use of legacy of the old models and decorations and other ideas that may deviate from the designer’s design of the main purpose, which is designed for it. The most important theories of the trend of modernity (The movement of the Dystyle, Bauhaus School, Functional theory and Art Nouveau). The growth of modernity came naturally as a result of the social changes that resulted from the First World War and the accompanying total destruction. During this period, intellectual attitudes reflected the belief in the need to find a better life. Modernism was a revolutionary act that established new methods and approaches that tried to break away from the past and showed their hatred of history and decoration. They tended to focus on the clear functionalism derived from the machine age, It is clear that the goal of the interior design of modernism is to provide a comfortable and controlled human environment to achieve the job in the best possible way. While seeking to apply the function first in the design, the ideas were freed from the past and the designers took Care of technological advances, the use of abstraction mechanisms, and the use of modern Materials and techniques in interior design. The following design movements of the trend of modernity: (the doctrine of brutality, late modernism, high-tech and postmodernism). Modern design: Modern design means the designs that appeared in the late 19th century, while contemporary design means designs that appear in the current era. The modern design is based on the creation of geometric spaces in straight lines according to the design function. Contemporary design works on straight lines using geometric shapes to create a space that can unite with nature by using natural materials in a modern and appropriate manner.
