This study was conducted in the city of Khamis, 125 km east of Tripoli, Libya, in 2018. The aim of this study was to follow up on the study of overlaps between nutrients (phosphorus and zinc), and to determine the best rates of addition to these elements, and to avoid the loss of Phosphate fertilizers and microelement fertilization (zinc), achieving abundant production at the lowest cost and less pollution of soil, water and air, which is a positive objective for the conduct of applied scientific research.
The experiment was conducted for one planting season on the local variety of maize plants, using four levels of phosphorus (0 - 20 - 50 - 100) mg/kg soil, while three levels of zinc (0-5-10) mg/kg soil were used.
The addition of phosphorus in the form of superphosphate and zinc fertilizer was in the form of zinc sulfate. The results obtained showed that the best phosphorus additive rate without zinc (20 mg/kg soil) with the productivity of 52.22 g/pot corresponding to the concentration of plant phosphorus absorbed 48.53 g/pot. The best additive rate of zinc without phosphorus (5 mg/kg soil) and the productivity obtained is 51.44 g/pot corresponding to the concentration of plant absorbed zinc 6.03 g/pot. The results also showed that the best levels of phosphorus and zinc added together were (50 - 5) mg/kg soil, and the productivity obtained was 55.30 g/soils. The yield of the witness treatment (no additive) of phosphorus and zinc at rates (0 - 0) was 20.10 g/p and is the lowest productivity obtained under the experimental conditions used. The results of the statistical analysis showed both significant and significant values of the effect of the interventions on dry weight quality and the concentration of the two components absorbed by the plant.
