المستخلص: Considered a general uprising 1958 was one of the most important revolutions and uprisings in Lebanon since its independence. This revolution led to many controversies and serious clashes between the opposition and the Lebanese Government, after the conflict between the Lebanese Government and intensified opposition at the end of the constitutional term of Office of the President (Camille Chamoun) and the need to elect a new President. Exacerbating the situation between the two sides and caused armed clashes between the two sides in Tripoli and Beirut. 28 March-2 April 1958, killing many of the dead and wounded and Shimon's supporters began to demand a constitutional amendment for reelection of Shimon for a second term, and the situation is exacerbated by the assassination of journalist Nassib metni, after several attempts and the Government's failure to contain the uprising, try Shimon to internationalize the Lebanese issue Despite all attempts and despite siding the United States alongside Shimon but ultimately prevail was for the people.
