Introduction: Esophageal varices are enlarged or swollen veins on the lining of the esophagus which are prone to bleeding. They are life-threatening, and can be fatal in up to 50% of patients. They usually appear in patients with severe liver disease. Objective: Evaluation of the management of oesophageal bleeding by sclerotherapy. Method: A retrospective study involving one hundred in patients with oesophageal bleeding from Ibn Sina hospital were selected in period from October to December 2016. Results: Hundred patients were selected for the study from Ibn Sina hospital, in Khartoum state. The study conclude that, (53%) of patients returned bleeding. Hundred percent of the patients use non-selective beta blocker mainly propranolol 40mg o.d as primary and secondary prophylaxis. Sclerosnt use ethanolamine oleate 5%, management of bleeding was effective at time of bleeding but it is ineffective in the long time.
