|b Ahmed Mahfoudh is a connoisseur of Tunis, the City of fallen artists and dreamweavers. The novel and the novelist experience the world depicting the city’s dizziness thanks to their wandering characters. Disenchanted, lonely and fragile they best portray the cruelty and sensuality of Tunis. Becoming observers of the world and of the human garbage, these characters get lost in the city’s dark streets tamping its dangerous slippery paving stones putting an end to their dreams and alienating their freedom.

Avec leurs personnages rôdeurs, le roman et le romancier font leur expérience du monde en mettant en scène les vertiges de la ville. Désenchantés et ayant des bleus à l’âme, ces personnages passionnés, seuls et fragiles, sont le parfait prototype d’un certain Tunis sensuel et cruel. Devenant eux aussi observateurs du monde et de l’immondice humaine, ils s’égarent dans ses rues obscures, foulant ses pavés dangereusement glissants et déroutants, mettant fin à leurs rêves et aliénant leur liberté.
