|a تعد عملية نقد النصوص قديمة قدم النص نفسه، فقد روت لنا كتب تاريخ آداب العربية أن علماء العربية كانوا يمارسون النقد اللغوي قبل تقعيد القواعد ووضع الضوابط والحدود، معتمدين في ذلك على الذوق الفني الفردي لكل واحد منهم، وشرطهم ألا يخالف المنتوج الأدبي كلام فصحاء العرب في الصوت، أو التركيب، أو الدلالة، وكثيرا ما كانوا يبحثون للشعراء عن أعذار إذا ما خالف الشعراء سنن العرب في كلامهم، فاستحدثوا آليات لتوجيه الكلام؛ كالقول بالضرورة الشعرية، وتقدير محذوف، سواء كان حرفا، أو فعلا، أو اسما، أو جملة، وتفسير الشعر على غير ما فهم، وغيرها من الآليات.
