المستخلص: لقد أحدثت تكنولوجيا الخامات طفرة هائلة في تطوير مفاهيم تصميم وتشكيل الأثاث، وذلك باستخدام الأساليب الحديثة في التصميم والتصنيع والتنفيذ والتركيب. وهنا تكمن مشكلة البحث في كيفية استفادة المصمم من التقدم التكنولوجي والتنوع في الخامات في تطوير الفكر التصميمي للأثاث. لذا يهدف البحث إلى توضيح دور تكنولوجيا الخامات والذي كان له عظيم الأثر في تطوير مفاهيم تصميم وتشكيل الأثاث، وتنفيذه باستخدام التقنيات الحديثة. فلا شك أن تواجد الخامات وتطورها يرتبط دائما بالتطور التقني والفكري، إذ يتوقف مدى ما يتاح من تقنيات أمام المصمم، تبنيه لفكرا مغايرا لما عهد عليه، ومن هنا يذخر التصميم بأفكار جديدة ومبتكرة. فقد ظهرت بعض وحدات الأثاث بتصميمات إبداعية متصلة بمحددات الفراغ، نظرا للقدرة التشكيلية للخامات الحديثة المستخدمة في التنفيذ، وأخرى ظهرت بتصميمات تفاعلية تتميز بقدرة المواد المكونة لها على تغيير خصائصها طبقا لرغبة المستخدم، وذلك من خلال إضافة أجهزة الاستشعار واستخدام مواد مشعة للضوء، ومواد الثيرموكرومك .... إلخ. ولذلك ينبغي على المصمم أن يكون على دراية تامة بالخامات الحديثة وخصائصها وإمكانياتها وأحدث أساليب التنفيذ، كي يتمكن من اختيار الخامات المناسبة لتنفيذ تصميمه وفقا لحاجة مستخدميه. ويتناول البحث عرض وتحليل لبعض نماذج حديثة من الأثاث ذات فكر تصميمي متطور وقدرات تشكيلية واستخدامية غير مألوفة من قبل.

Materials Technology has caused a huge surge in the development of furniture design and formation concepts, using modern methods of designing, manufacturing, installation and implementation. And here lies the problem of the research in how the designer takes advantage of technological advances and the diversity of the materials in the development of design thought for furniture. So research aims to clarify the role of technology and materials, which had a great impact in the development of furniture design and formation concepts, and implementing it using modern techniques. There is no doubt that the presence of materials and its development is always associated with technical and intellectual development, as the extent of available techniques in front of the designer helps him to create new thoughts and ideas in a different era, here the design appears with new ideas and innovation. Some units of furniture have appeared with innovative designs connected to determinants space, because of the ability of configurable modern materials used in the execution, and other furniture appeared with Interactive designs characterized by the ability of its constituent materials to change their properties according to the desire of user, by adding sensors and the use of phosphoric materials making light and also Thermo chromic materials...etc. Therefore, the designer should be fully aware of the modern materials and their characteristics and its capabilities and also the latest methods of execution, to be able to choose the right materials for the implementation of designs according to the needs of its users. The research also deals with some samples and analyses of some modern models of furniture with advanced design thinking and capabilities of formation and usability unfamiliar before
