المستخلص: This paper shows how Al-Suyuti is distinguished by his unique way that combines taste and science, between the sensitivity of the lover of poetry and the critic who is governed by laws and rules. Hence his critical approach is unique in his explanation of Al- Mughni’s references. He adopted various trends such as providing a poet’s biography, criticism of words, explanation of meaning, critique of musical melody, critique and analysis of literary images, analysis of the virtuous improvements, the artistic construction of the ancient Arabic poem. Finally, the paper proposes the main findings reached. Al-Suyuti's explanation is the first book to explain the evidence of Al-Mughni. It presents the views of Al-Mughni, and balances between some of its evidence and other poems that were not included in it. These balances are based on artistic bases. In writing Al-Mughni, Al-Suyuti adopted three methods: The scientific method, the narrative, and digressions that were the dominant features of books in the Suyuti era.
