المستخلص: يهدف البحث إلى التعرف على واقع خدمة الأقراص المكتنزة في مكتبة كلية الآداب/ جامعة البصرة والتعرف على المشاكل والصعوبات التي تواجه المستفيدين في الحصول على الأقراص المكتنزة ووضع الحلول المناسبة لتحسين وتطوير هذه الخدمة، وتم الاعتماد على المنهج الوصفي: دراسة حالة لإنجاز هذا البحث وتم الاعتماد على أداة الاستبانة بوصفها أداة رئيسية لجمع المعلومات والبيانات الخاصة لعينة البحث والذي شمل المستفيدين من أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية وطلبة الدراسات العليا والبالغ عددهم (100) مستفيد وتضمنت استمارة الاستبانة على أحد عشر سؤالاً، وأيضاً مقابلة مع مسؤول وحدة الأقراص المكتنزة في مكتبة كلية الآداب.
وخلص البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج كان من أهمها:
1- أن نسبة (100%) من المستفيدين يستخدمون الأقراص المكتنزة في مكتبة كلية الآداب / جامعة البصرة والغرض من الاستخدام هو الحصول على نسخ جديدة من الرسائل والأطاريح الجامعية وبنسبة مئوية (85.71%) أما الذين يستخدمون الأقراص لغرض حداثة المعلومات فكانت بنسبة مئوية (14.29%).
2- أن نسبة (97%) من المستفيدين يؤكدون بأن الرسائل والأطاريح الجامعية الموجودة في الأقراص المكتنزة تلبي حاجاتهم العلمية.
وخرج البحث بمجموعة من التوصيات كان من أهمها:
1- لأهمية الأقراص المكتنزة يفضل وجود مكان خاص لوحدة الأقراص المكتنزة في مكتبة كلية الآداب وأن يكون مكتمل من جميع النواحي كتوفر الحواسيب وملحقاتها وأجهزة الاستنساخ وأجهزة التبريد الكافية.
2- توفير خط انترنت في مكتبة كلية الآداب بشكل عام ولوحدة الأقراص المكتنزة بشكل خاص وذلك للاطلاع والبحث في المواقع الالكترونية المحلية والعربية والحصول على ما تحتاجه من رسائل وأطاريح علمية تخدم مجتمع المستفيدين وهذا بدوره يؤدي إلى زيادة المجموعة المكتبية في مكتبة كلية الآداب.


The research aims to identify the reality of the CD-ROM service at the Library of the Faculty of Arts / University of Basra, identify the problems and difficulties faced by beneficiaries in obtaining CD-ROMs and develop appropriate solutions to improve and develop this service. The descriptive approach was relied upon:
Case study for the completion of this research. The identification tool was used as the main tool for collecting information and data for the research sample, which included the beneficiaries of faculty members and graduate students (100) beneficiaries. The questionnaire form comprised of 11 questions, as well as an interview with the official of the CD-ROM Unit at the Library of the Faculty of Arts.
The research concluded a series of findings, the most important of which include:
1- 100% of the beneficiaries use the CD-ROM in the library of the Faculty of Arts/University of Basra. The purpose of the use is to obtain new copies of papers and university dissertations at a percentage of (85.71%), while those who use them to update information, their percentage reached (14.29%).
2- That 97% of the beneficiaries confirm that the papers and university dissertations contained in the CD-ROMs satisfy their scientific needs.
The research came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which include:
1- Given the importance of CD-ROM, it is preferable to have a special place for the CD-ROM Unit in the library of the Faculty of Arts, which should be integrated fully, such as the availability of computers and accessories, photocopy machines and adequate cooling devices.
2- Providing an Internet connection in the library of the Faculty of Arts, in general, and the CD-ROM Unit, in particular, for viewing and searching local and Arabic websites and having access to the required papers and scientific dissertations that serve the beneficiary community, which in turn leads to an increase in the library collection in the library of the Faculty of Arts.
