المستخلص: The Horla is one of Maupassant news where the relationship with the other is concretized, in a game of attraction, of need but also of fear. This text presents an omnipresent and absent being at the same time that fills the solitude and existential emptiness of the narrator. In this binary construction, the writer urges the reader to reflect on the importance of the presence of the other to concretize our existence.

Le Horla est une des nouvelles de Maupassant où se concrétise le rapport à l’Autre, dans un jeu d’attirance, de besoin mais aussi de peur. Ce texte met en scène un Être omniprésent et absent à la fois qui comble la solitude et le vide existentiel du personnage narrateur. Dans cette construction binaire, l’écrivain pousse le lecteur à réfléchir sur l’importance de la présence de l’Autre à concrétiser notre existence.
