المستخلص: The furniture industry is one of the important industries in Egypt, of which many complementary industries are included. Many different materials are included in the furniture industry, which vary in the methods of formation and assembly affected by their physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. Therefore, the analytical study of the general characteristics of the different materials was the goal to solve the problem of lacking knowledge of how to deal with materials, by creating a database that helps the designer to choose the appropriate material for the operating environment and the effort exerted on it, such as the strain of wood, and the resistance to erosion and corrosion of marble and granite, and to determine the extent of homogeneity Between different materials and the appropriateness of combining them through the convergence of the values of the common characteristics, as well as the use of platinum metal in welding glass in order to achieve innovation and diversity in design and implementation, and to achieve the highest quality of the product.
Research problem: Lack of knowledge of the physical and mechanical properties of domestic furniture susceptible to manufacturing materials, resulting in designs that could not be implemented or designs that lack quality of operation.
Research objectives: To identify the natural, mechanical characteristics of the most important local employable materials in the furniture industry and the mechanism of their impact on the design functionally and aesthetically.
Research methodology: The research follows the applied descriptive-analytical approach where the natural and mechanical properties of the synthesized raw materials and their impact on the operational quality of the product are carefully analyzed.

تعتبر صناعة الأثاث من الصناعات الهامة في مصر، والتي تندرج منها العديد من الصناعات المكملة، وتدخل في صناعة الأثاث العديد من الخامات المختلفة والتي تتنوع في أساليب تشكيلها وطرق تجميعها متأثرة بخصائصها الفيزيائية، والكميائية والميكانيكية.... لذلك كانت الدراسة التحليلية للخصائص العامة للخامات المختلفة هو الهدف لحل مشكلة افتقاد معرفة كيفية التعامل مع الخامات، وذلك بتكوين قاعدة من البيانات التي تساعد المصمم لاختيار الخامة المناسبة لبيئة التشغيل وللجهد الواقع عليها مثل جهد الانفعال لخامة الخشب، ومقاومة البري والتآكل للرخام والجرانيت، وتحديد مدى التجانس بين الخامات المختلفة وملائمة الجمع بينهم من خلال تقارب قيم الخصائص المشتركة، كما في استخدام معدن البلاتين في لحام الزجاج بما يحقق الابتكار والتنوع في التصميم والتنفيذ، وتحقيق أعلى درجات الجودة للمنتج. مشكلة البحث: افتقاد معرفة للخصائص الفيزيائية والميكانيكية للخامات المحلية القابلة لتصنيع الأثاث مما ترتب على ذلك ظهور تصميمات غير قابلة للتنفيذ أو تصميمات تفتقد لجودة التشغيل. هداف البحث: تحديد الخصائص الطبيعية، والميكانيكية، لأهم الخامات المحلية القابلة للتوظيف في صناعة الأثاث وآلية تأثيرها على التصميم وظيفياً وجمالياً. منهج البحث: يتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي التطبيقي حيث يتم التحليل الدقيق للخصائص الطبيعية، والميكانيكية، للخامات القابلة للتصنيع وتأثيرها على جودة التشغيل للمنتج.
