دراستنا مرثية مالك بن الريب في ضوء علم اللغة النفسي ترتبت عليها نتائج، هي: 1-ساعدتنا هذه الدراسة في الولوج إلى أعماق نفس الشاعر، وفهم طبيعة شخصيته من الجانب السيكولوجي، وجعلتنا نستكشف الأساس النفسي الفعال الذي حرك الشاعر ودفعه لإبداع قصيدته. 2-أبانت لنا أنا لا نفهم العمل الفني إلا بفهم نفسية صاحبه، كما أنا لا نتمكن من فهم نفسية صاحب العمل إلا في ضوء فهم أدبه وفنه. 3-أبانت لنا أن مالك بن الريب شاعر حساس للغاية، وتوتره النفسي وانفعاله القوي كان سببا في إبداع يائيته الخالدة، وقد عبرت لغته الانفعالية عن توتره النفسي، فكانت يائيته خير شاهد على معاناته النفسية، واستطاع من خلالها أن يؤثر في الملقي ويجعله يتعاطف معه في رثاء ذاته. 4-جعلتنا نستشف دلالات الصوت والبنية والتركيب والصورة داخل العمل الفني، وندرك أن الخصائص المتميزة للصوت والبنية والتركيب والصورة في مرثية مالك بن الريب هي التي أطلقت معاني المرثية متفجرة بعميق الأسى على شاعر مرهف وفارس مغوار يصارع الموت في لحظات الاحتضار.
