المستخلص: يسعى المشروع الفلسفي لميشال فوكو إلى رسم تشخيص نقدي تاريخي للثقافة الغربية من أجل كتاب تاريخ الحاضر؛ لأن مسألة الحاضر وضعت في مركز التأمل الفلسفي، ومهمة الفلسفة- حسب فوكو – لا تتمثل في البحث عن الشروط الشكلية للحقيقة بل في القيام بتشخيص الحاضر. يمنح هذا العمل للفيلسوف خصوصية لنشاطه كمشخص وفي نفس الوقت قراءة نقدية لراهنه.

The Foucauldian undertaking endeavors to trace a critical-historical diagnosis of Western culture in order to write the history of the present because the question of the present is placed at the focus of philosophical reflection, and the task of philosophy, according to Foucault, does not consist to seek the formal conditions of truth or to determine the supra-historical essence, but to make the diagnosis of the present. This work gives specificity to the philosopher activity as a diagnostician which is at the same time a critical reading of his own time.

L’entreprise foucaldienne s’attache à tracer un diagnostic criticohistorique de la culture occidentale pour écrire l’histoire du présent. Car, la question du présent est placée au centre de la réflexion philosophique et la tâche de la philosophie, selon Foucault, ne consiste pas à chercher les conditions formelles de vrai ou de déterminer l’essence supra-historique, mais consiste à faire le diagnostic du présent. Ce travail donne au philosophe une spécificité à son activité comme diagnosticien qui est au même temps une lecture critique de son propre temps.
