|d La toponymie n’est pas seulement une affaire de terminologie, c’est aussi une question de souveraineté indissociable de l’Histoire, de la culture, de la langue d’un pays. Les intentions politiques et idéologiques influent incontestablement sur la (re)dénomination. Concernant les deux périodes-clés de l’histoire de l’Algérie,, on peut aisément observer que de très nombreux lieux ont été renommés par l’administration française pour faire disparaître références culturelles, sociales, religieuses précédant l’occupation française, de même que le pouvoir post- colonial algérien s’est attelé à la tâche d’éradication des traces toponymiques coloniales ou témoignant de l’histoire française.. Dans le cadre de la présente étude, nous nous arrêterons sur l’aspect hagionymique colonial et postcolonial des communes d’Algérie.

|f Toponymy is not only a matter of terminology, it is also a question of sovereignty inseparable from the history, culture and language of a country. Political and ideological intentions undoubtedly influence the (re)denomination. Regarding the two key periods in the history of Algeria, we can easily observe that many places have been renamed by the French administration to remove cultural, social, religious references preceding the French occupation. In addition, the Algerian post-colonial power got down to the task of eradicating colonial toponymic traces or traces of French history. In the context of the present study, we will focus on the colonial and postcolonial hagionymic aspect of municipalities of Algeria.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2021
