المستخلص: لا شك في أن النص القرآني يعد المصدر الأساس في تشكيل بنية الدين الإسلامي، ومن ثمة ينبغي وجود آليات تحدد المنهج العام لفهم هذا القرآن؛ ولكيلا تقع تلك النصوص أسيرة الخرافة والأساطير، لا بد من مراعاة تلك الآليات وتطبيقها في حال تطلب فهم تلك النصوص. ويرى المفكر المصري نصر حامد أبو زيد أن التاريخية تمثل منهجا في ذلك الفهم تبعد القرآن عن الخرافة والأسطورة، لكن نظريته هذه قد أثارت سجالا أفضت فيما إلى دراسات وقراءات متعددة لأفكاره، كانت أكثرها قراءات تعسفية تفتقد للموضوعية والحيادية، ولأجل الوقوف على حقيقة تلك النظرية بنحو من الموضوعية جاءت هذه الدراسة لتبين حقيقة هذه التاريخية ومن ثم الوقوف تقويمها وبيان مواطن الضعف فيها.

Surely Quranic text is considered a basis in the construction of Islam. It is seen as a discourse that embodies and exposes the reality of theories that establish the Islamic principles and catalysts. Accordingly, such text can result in and ensuing the Islamic awareness. This awareness cannot be set apart from the style and methods of its texts and instructions in an attempt to comprehend mutual relation and the intended meaning. Then there should be a mechanism that shapes the general approach for this concept. Furthermore, in order not for such texts to fall under the label of myths and fables, there must be a precision at the level of application of such mechanism in those texts. Nassir Hamid, the Egyptian thinker, sees that historicism forms an approach in such situation in relation to text understanding that dispatches Quran from legend and myth. His theory paved the way for many controversial studies, several of such studies were subjective and lacking neutrality. To approach and understand the theory from an objective point of view, the current research focused on historicism just to explain it and to show its strengths and weakness. This study examines the meaning of historicism in relation to Quran in terms of this thinker since this term has been an ambiguous connotation for some references. There are also a lot of readings and studies that tried to explain the term in question. The research also aims as exposing the strong and weak points of the term. It seeks an answer for the question whether the term forms a suitable tool of analysis for such texts. It approaches the term" historicism" from a scientific point of view. The research comprises an introduction, a preliminary about the term 'historicism', and the difference between the term and hermeneutics. There is also a section exposes the concept in terms of Hamid's views. The third section is devoted to some applications of the term. The final section is specified for the criticism and evaluation of historicism.
