|a فقد خضعت الأندلس خلال الفترة من (548- 640هــ/ 1153- 1243م) لحكم دولة الموحدين، وفي ظل حكم الموحدين لبلاد الأندلس- وحاضرة مالقة تحديدا- شهدت ازدهارا علميا في مختلف العلوم الشرعية واللغوية، وقد ساعد على ذلك تشجيع الخلفاء الموحدين للعلماء ورعايتهم، وتقديم الدعم اللازم لهم، وقد كان حاضرة مالقة مركز للثقافة والعلوم الشرعية جنوب الأندلس، فقد كانت مالقة موطنا للعديد من العلماء والأعلام الذين كانوا مقصدا لطلاب العلم من مختلف أنحاء المدن الأندلسية، ومن بين هؤلاء العلماء ابن عسكر الذي ابتدأ كتاب "أعلام مالقة"، وابن خميس الذي أتم هذا الكتاب، فقد شاركا في الحياة العلمية في مالقة تلك الفترة، كما يعد كتاب "أعلام مالقة" من كتب التراجم البلدانية المعدودة والمخصصة لهذه الحاضرة الأندلسية، لقد كان لحاضرة مالقة دور مهم في بناء الحضارة والثقافة في دولة الإسلام بالأندلس، وقد انفرد كتاب "أعلام مالقة" بالحديث عما كان يدور فيها من حلقات العلم والتدريس بجامعها، والتعريف بأعلامها في مختلف العلوم، وإلقاء الضوء على مواقف العديد من العلماء والمراسلات فيما بينهم، وسلوكهم وآدابهم. وعلى الرغم من أن كتاب "أعلام مالقة" لم يصلنا كاملا وذلك لضياع الجزء الأول منه، إلا أنه من خلال مائة وأربع وسبعين ترجمة هي عدد الجزء الثاني للكتاب، قد نجح في تقديم صورة قريبة من واقع البيئة في هذه المدينة في تلك الفترة، وذلك لأنه ينفرد بذكر تراجم لأعلام وعلماء من أهل مالقة، وهو بهذا يسد ثغرة كبيرة في تاريخ تلك الحاضرة الأندلسية ما كان ليسده غيره، هذا وقد قسمت هذه الدراسة إلى مقدمة وأربعة فصول وخاتمة وقائمة للمصادر والمراجع وفهرس الموضوعات.
