المستخلص: في هذا البحث تناول المؤلف الحديث عن القدح في العلماء والتقليل من شأنهم، وبين خطورة هذا العمل على ذاتية الأمة وهيبتها، كما بين صورًا من الطعن في العلماء في القديم والحديث، ثم شرع في بيان الدوافع والأسباب لذلك، واتضح أنها: دوافع داخلية ودوافع الخارجية كما أردف الباحث ببيان الآثار المترتبة على التطاول على مقامهم الكريم؛ مما أضر بالعلم والعلماء وطلاب العلم.
• أوضح الباحث العلاج الناجع لتلك الظاهرة الخطير متماشياً مع الأسباب والآثار ببيان أهمية العلم وقدر العلماء، وعلاج أمراض القلوب وأثر الإيمان في مجابهة تلك الأمراض، كما أردف ببيان المنهج العلمي الصحيح الذي يناقض التقليد والتعصب، ويعتمد على التلقي من أفواه المشايخ، كما بين ضرورة التثبت والتروي قبل الحكم على الوقائع والأشخاص، كما بين ضرورة اعتزاز العلماء بأنفسهم واحترامهم لقيمة ما يحملونه من علم، وأثر ذلك في الحد من تطاول الأقزام عليهم. كما أشار إلى ضرورة نشر ثقافة تعظيم العلماء وتقديرهم من خلال المنابر الإعلامية المتعددة؛ لإنشاء جيل يجل العلماء ويقدرهم.

In this research, the author dealt with insulting and abusive words being used against scholars and belittling them. He explained the seriousness of this action on the identity of the nation and its prestige. He also showed some forms of defamation of scholars in old and modern times. Then he proceeded to explain the motives and reasons for that. It was found that the motives are both internal and external, as the researcher added, with a statement of the implications of the defaming their honourable stature, which is detrimental to science, scholars and students of science.
The researcher explained the effective treatment of this dangerous phenomenon in line with the causes and effects by indicating the importance of science and the value of scholars and the treatment of heart (spiritual) diseases and the impact of faith in confronting those diseases. He also stated the correct scientific method that contradicts tradition and intolerance and relies on receiving the elders orally. He also described the necessity of ascertaining and deliberating before judging facts and persons. He also explained the need for scientists to take pride in themselves and respect the value of their knowledge and its effect in reducing the slandering. He also pointed out the need to spread the culture of respecting scholars and appreciating them through multiple media platforms to create a generation that honours and appreciates scholars.
