|a يتناول هذا البحث الترجمة للقارئ أبي السمال العدوي وتوجيه قراءته نحويا، وهو بحث تعقيبي استدراكي على بحث زميل سابق تناول التوجيه النحوي لقراءته فاستدركت على عمله قراءات أخرى بلغت ستا وثلاثين قراءة مما ندت عنه، وخفيت عليه. وقد كان لأبي السمال العدوي حضوره القوي في كتب القراءة والتفسير بصفته مقرئا فصيحا، له اختيار في القراءة مشتمل على صور متعددة من الاستعمالات اللغوية المخالفة لما عليه المشهور، الدالة على سعة العربية، وتنوع مسارب القول فيها، فجاءت قراءاته تلك منبهة جمهرة الدارسين والباحثين إلى العناية بالقراءة الشاذة، والإفادة من هذا المعين الثر الذي احتفظ في جوانب متعددة منه بطرائق مختلفة من التعبير اللغوي والتركيب النحوي بدلالة خاصة كان في بعض آي الكتاب ما يسندها ويعضدها ويحتج به لها، فهي من حيث الإسناد خارجة عما أجمع عليه، لكنها نافعة له في الدلالة على أضرب القول، وصور الخطاب. وقد ظهر من خلال الدراسة والمناقشة متانةُ هذا المسمَّى شاذا، وقوة دلالته، وقبولُ النظم القرآني إياه، ومسايرته لقواعد اللغة، وضوابط العربية.

|b This research paper tackles the biography of the Qur᾿ān reciter Abu As-Sammāl Al-ʿAdawi and presents syntactic analyses of his readings. This study is complementary of a study previously conducted by a colleague who has attempted a syntactic appraisal of Abu As-Sammal Al-ʿAdawi’s reading of the Qur᾿ān. I have managed to reach 36 readings that were missing in the abovementioned previous research. As an eloquent scholar of Qur᾿ānic readings, Abu As-Sammāl Al-ʿAdawi was one of the respectable authors of the books on Qur᾿ānic readings and interpretation. Abu As-Sammāl has his own versions of Qur᾿ānic readings whose language analyses are different from the commonly accepted ones. However, these different analyses present evidence that Arabic is a rich language open for scholarly research and opinions. Therefore, his unusual readings have caught the attention of researchers and scholars and urged them to make use of this rich source. This source retains in many of its aspects various ways of language expression and syntactic structures, with specific semantic reference that can be proved and supported by some other Qur᾿ānic verses. As for their chains of narration, they are different from what the majority of scholars agreed on, but they are useful as representative of exceptional forms of discourse. The study has found that these unusual (or irregular) readings are original, and that their semantic references are substantial, complying with Qur᾿ānic rhythms, Arabic grammar and principles.
