|a يعتبر تنظيم المجال من أهم المعايير التي يعتمد عليها جميع الدارسين لتحليل مكونات مجتمع معين وإبراز خصائصه الديموغرافية والإثنية، باعتباره الأساس الذي تقوم عليه جل التحولات المرتبطة بالمجتمع البشري. وإذا كان المغرب قد شهد عدة تطورات وأحداث تاريخية قبل دخوله تحت سلطة الحماية الفرنسة، فقد كان للمجال دور كبير في ذلك، إلا أن الباحثين الفرنسيين أولوا عناية خاصة لهذا المجال وأبرزوا خصائصه ومميزاته. وهذه هي الخطوط العريضة التي يحاول هذا المقال الإحاطة بها.
