المستخلص: يهدف هذه المقال إلى تقديم لمحة وصفية حول سير القطاع المصرفي الجزائري لغرض تحليل دقة أداءه، بحيث تشمل هذه الدراسة مجمل البنوك العمومية الجزائرية والخاصة. تقوم هذه الورقة البحثية في مرحلة أولى باستعراض واقع القطاع المصرفي الجزائري عبر قياس أهم المؤشرات المالية التي بإمكانها توضيح دقة أداء البنوك وذلك لغرض تقييم مستوى الوساطة لمصرفية في مرحلة ثانية وهذا من أجل الكشف عن أهم معوقات المنظومة المصرفية الجزائرية. تبين النتائج المحصل عليها أنه على الرغم من دقة أداء البنوك الخاصة تبقى مساهمتها في تمويل الاقتصاد المحلي ضئيلة بالمقارنة مع نظيرتها العمومية.

The present article consists in an attempt to establish a description of the functioning of the Algerian banking sector in order to analyze its performance. The study covers all private and public banks of Algeria. This paper starts with assessing the state of the Algerian banking sector by measuring the main financial indicators able to evaluate the performance of banks first, then to evaluate the level of banc intermediation before concluding with the main criticisms regarding the Algerian banking sector. Our findings suggest that despite their outstanding performance of private banks, their contribution in financing the national economy remains weak when compared to the role of the public banks.

Le présent article tente d’établir un état descriptif du fonctionnement du secteur bancaire algérien en vue d’analyser sa performance. Notre étude porte sur l’ensemble des banques Algériennes publiques et privées. Ce papier commence par un état des lieux du système bancaire en mesurant les principaux indicateurs financiers susceptibles de nous expliquer la performance des banques afin d’évaluer ensuite le niveau d’intermédiation bancaire pour conclure avec les principales critiques à l’encontre du secteur bancaire du pays. Nos résultats suggèrent qu’en dépit de la performance des banques privées, leur contribution à financer l’économie du pays est assez faible par rapport à leurs homologues publiques.
