المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة العلل اللغوية عن ابن جني في جانبها التطبيقي، في كتابه "التمام في تفسير أشعار هذيل مما أغفله أبو سعيد السكري"؛ إذ عني في هذا الكتاب بالتفسير والتعليل للظواهر اللغوية في الأشعار التي ساقها، وهو ما يعد قيمة كبيرة لهذا الكتاب. وقد جاء في عشرة مباحث، أبرزت آراء ابن جني في مجموعة من الظواهر اللغوية في الشعر، وأسباب ظهورها على ما هي عليه في الاستعمال اللغوي، من مماثلة، أو مخالفة، أو حذف، أو استعمال للأصل المرفوض، أو تقارب في الألفاظ... إلخ. مع الموازنة بين ما ذهب إليه ابن جني وما قاله الآخرون بشأن هذه الظواهر؛ لمعرفة فلسفتها عن غيره أيضاً، وأيها أقرب إلى طبيعة اللغة، ومقدار الاتفاق والاختلاف بين تلك الآراء. وقد أسفرت ذلك عن بعض النتائج في البحث، كحدوث الإبدال؛ طلباً للتشابه الصوتي، وتوافق النغمة. وضرورة التنبيه على الأصالة والفرعية عند دراسة صيغ الجموع؛ لدفع شبهة كثرة صيغها في اللغة العربية دون مبرر؛ حيث يتبين أن بعضها متطور عن الآخر، وليست كلها مصادر وضعت في الأصل للكلمة. وكاعتماد ابن جني على السياق النحوي في ترجيح بعض العلل اللغوية. ودور الحمل على المعنى أو اللفظ في تفسير مخالفة الظاهر للواقع اللغوي.

This paper aims at studying Ibn Jinni's "Linguistic Causes" in their applicable aspect and as expounded in his book entitled: Al-Tamam fi Tafsir Asha'ar Huzail Mema Aghfalahu Abu Said Al-Sukari (The Perfection in Explaining Abu Huzail's Poetry In Regard to what is Overlooked by Al-Sukari). In this book, Ibn Jinni paid more attention to explaining and expounding the linguistic phenomena in the quoted poetry. This, in itself, adds much value to this book. This paper is divided into ten sections which highlighted Ibn Jinni's views in a set of linguistic phenomena in Arabic poetry and the causes of their appearance in the current form of use, including the aspects of 'similarity', 'dissimilarity', 'omission', 'using the rejected root of the Arabic term', or 'convergence of terms'. Meanwhile, this paper considered balancing the views of Ibn Jinni with those of other linguists regarding these linguistic phenomena so as to identify their philosophy, point out their relation to Arabic language, and also to recognize the level of agreement and disagreement between Ibn Jinni's views and those of other linguists. This paper came up with some results, such as the occurrence of replacement as an application of phonetic assimilation and harmony of phonemes, and the necessity of adhering to originality when studying the plural forms so as to refute the misconception of their unjustified multitude in Arabic language. It has been proven that some of these plural forms are more developed than others and that they are not all infinitives that are originally put for the intended term. The results also included Ibn Jinni's dependence on syntactic context to give preference to certain "linguistic causes" over others; and the role of drawing upon "linguistic interpretation" when the explicit meaning of the terms differs from its linguistic reality.
