المستخلص: The study aimed at recognizing the professional requirements for the selection of presidents of the Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries. To achieve the objective of study, the descriptive surveying method was employed and a questionnaire that consisted of (25) items had been developed with its validity and reliability assured. The questionnaires were distributed on the sample of the study which consisted of (186) academic leaders. The results of study showed that the degree of availability of the professional requirements for the selection of Presidents of Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries and from the point of view of the sample of study, were at a medium degree. The results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences among averages ascribed to the current work, in the field of personal ascribed to the dean and chair person, and in the field of administrative ascribed to the vice dean and chairperson. Besides, it was indicated that there were statistically significant differences among averages ascribed to experience, in the field of administrative ascribed to the experienced leaders; (5-10 years). The results also showed the professional requirements for the selection of presidents of Jordanian public universities according to the experiences of developed countries. In light of those results, the study invited the Jordanian public universities to adopt the professional requirements that the study had reached, and the truthfully announcement in all means of media about existence of vacancies to presidency of the Jordanian public universities.

هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف المتطلبات المهنية لاختيار رؤساء الجامعات الأردنية وفقاً لتجارب الدول المتقدمة. لتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم تطوير استبانة مكونة من (25) فقرة، وتم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، ومن ثم تم توزيعها على عينة الدراسة المكونة من (186) قائداً أكاديمياً، وتم استخدام المنهج المسحي الوصفي التطويري، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن درجة توافر المتطلبات المهنية لاختيار رؤساء الجامعات الأردنية وفقاً لتجارب الدول المتقدمة من وجهة نظر أفراد عينة الدراسة، وكانت بدرجة متوسطة، وتوجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المتوسطات الحسابية تعزى للعمل الحالي، في مجال الشخصي وتعزى للعميد ورئيس القسم، وفي مجال الإداري وتعزى للنائب العميد ورئيس القسم، وتوجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين المتوسطات الحسابية تعزى للخبرة، في المجال الإداري وتعزى لذوي الخبرة (5- 10 سنوات)، وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة المتطلبات المهنية لاختيار رؤساء الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية وفقاً لتجارب الدول المتقدمة، وأوصت الدراسة في ضوء تلك النتائج دعوة الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية إلى تبني المتطلبات المهنية الذي توصلت إليها الدراسة، وأن يتم الإعلان الحقيقي في جميع وسائل الإعلام عن وجود شواغر لرئاسة الجامعات الأردنية الحكومية.
