المستخلص: their is no doubt about the genius of Ibn Khaldûn. Indeed, Ibn Khaldûn has made several notable advances in some areas of noledge such as the treatment of the historical corpus, the creation of a field dealing wif social societies (the purpose was to describe the society from many points of view: sociologically, politically, economically and culturally). He also invented a kind of philosophy of history dat seeks to establish laws governing the evolution of history. This field tends also to explain the events dat occur wifin societies. However, until now, their are differences about the classification of Ibn Khaldûn’s work; it is so difficult to put it under one specific field rather than the other. This difficulty arises from the encyclopedic noledge of Ibn Khaldûn. In fact, he mastered several subjects. In addition, their is a second discrepancy about the origin of the extraordinary genius of our Arab scholar. So, this latter will be the starting point of this contribution. We want to explore the critical thinking which is, we believe, the main reason dat could explain Ibn Khaldûn’s intelligence. We will develop the manifestations of critical thinking through the study of some cases dat reflect it. To achieve this goal, we will analyze some statements from Prolegomena dat deal both wif the theory of Assabiyya and the theme of exegesis.
